How Awesome Is Our God - September 30, 2025

Scripture:

“O Lord, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth, Who have set Your glory above the heavens!” - ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭8‬:‭1‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Devotional:

The psalmist David often broke into praise not because everything in his life was perfect, but because he recognized the majesty of God above his circumstances. That same perspective calls us today: to step back from what we see and remember who God is.

God is awesome in His creation, the heavens, the stars, and the earth all testify of His glory. He is awesome in His faithfulness, carrying us through valleys, battles, and storms we didn’t think we’d survive. He is awesome in His mercy, forgiving sins, restoring brokenness, and calling us His own when we didn’t deserve it.

Even when life feels uncertain or heavy, God remains awesome. His excellence is not diminished by our struggles. Instead, His power is made perfect in our weakness. And the more we magnify His greatness, the smaller our problems begin to look.

Reflection/Challenge:

Pause today and reflect: Where have I seen the “awesome hand of God” in my own life? Write down one thing He’s done recently that reminds you of His majesty.

Prayer:
Father God, in the Name of Jesus,
Thank You for another day. Thank You for waking me up this morning, starting me on my way, clothing me in my right mind, and allowing me to see the dawn of a brand new day.

Lord, I ask You to forgive me for all my sins and shortcomings, and I receive Your forgiveness in my heart. Create in me, O Lord, a clean heart. Purify my thoughts, and cast down every vain imagination and every high thing that tries to exalt itself against the knowledge of You, O God.

Lord, You are awesome in all Your ways. Thank You for Your majesty, Your mercy, and Your might. Help me to never lose sight of how excellent Your name is. Let my heart remain in awe of You every day, and may my life reflect Your glory. In Jesus Name I Pray, Thank God, Amen.
