God Is For You - August 21, 2025
Scripture:
“And they shall call them The Holy People, The Redeemed of the Lord; And you shall be called Sought Out, A City Not Forsaken.” - Isaiah 62:12 NKJV
Devotional:
God Himself declares who we are: holy, redeemed, sought out, and never forsaken. Notice what this scripture does not say. It doesn’t say we might be holy if we work hard enough, or that we’ll be redeemed if people finally recognize our value. It doesn’t call us “ignored” or “forgotten.” It declares with certainty who we already are in Him.
That means we don’t have to overextend ourselves trying to prove our worth. We don’t need to beg to be noticed, work ourselves to exhaustion, or shrink who God made us to be in order to be accepted. He called us, and that calling is enough. Our value is sealed by His redemption, not by human approval.
Often, we trust God’s power in some areas but try to move in our own strength in others, especially in relationships, opportunities, or areas where we long to be seen. But Isaiah 62:12 reminds us: if it’s God’s will, it will happen in His timing, and if it’s not, nothing we do will force it to work. Either way, His word stands, and His people are never forsaken.
So today, walk in the freedom of being sought out and chosen by God. Your identity is not tied to performance, people-pleasing, or proving anything. It is anchored in the One who calls you holy, redeemed, and His.
Reflection/Challenge:
Take a moment today to reflect: Are there areas in your life where you are still trying to prove your worth, win approval, or force something to happen in your own strength? Isaiah 62:12 calls you holy, redeemed, sought out, and not forsaken. That is already who you are. The challenge is to rest in that truth. Instead of striving, choose to surrender. Instead of seeking validation, lean into the identity God has already given you. This week, whenever you feel tempted to overwork, overextend, or people-please, stop and remind yourself: “I am sought out. I am redeemed. I am not forsaken.”
Prayer:
Father God, in the Name of Jesus,
Thank You for another day. Thank You for waking me up this morning, starting me on my way, clothing me in my right mind, and allowing me to see the dawn of a brand new day.
Lord, I ask You to forgive me for all my sins and shortcomings, and I receive Your forgiveness in my heart. Create in me, O Lord, a clean heart. Purify my thoughts, and cast down every vain imagination and every high thing that tries to exalt itself against the knowledge of You, O God.
Father, I thank You that I am already called holy, redeemed, sought out, and never forsaken. Forgive me for the times I’ve tried to prove myself, overextend myself, or find worth in places outside of You. Today, I rest in the identity You’ve spoken over me. Silence every lie of the enemy that says I’m not enough. Remind me that Your hand is on my life, Your name is on me, and Your love secures me. Order my steps so that I walk with confidence, peace, and obedience, knowing that I don’t have to chase approval because I am already chosen. In Jesus’ name I pray, Thank God, Amen.
