Faith Made Personal - August 20, 2025

Scripture:

“O taste and see that the LORD is good: Blessed is the man that trusteth in Him. - Psalm‬ ‭34‬:‭8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Devotional:

Faith becomes real when it moves from something we were told to believe to something we’ve personally experienced. Many of us first heard about God from our parents, church, or community, but true faith is birthed when we encounter His presence for ourselves.

We don’t believe simply because someone else said He’s real, but we believe because we’ve seen Him move, we’ve felt His peace in storms, and we’ve witnessed His hand making a way out of no way. Our testimony becomes: “I know God is real, because I’ve experienced Him.”

When you look back over your life, the doors that opened, the prayers answered, the strength that came when you were at your weakest, you realize: God is not just a story, He’s a living God who is active in your life today.

Reflection/Challenge:

Faith becomes real when it moves beyond what others have told us and becomes our own lived experience. It’s one thing to hear about God from parents, pastors, or friends but it’s another to know Him personally. When we experience His presence, His power, and His goodness in our own lives, our belief stops being secondhand and becomes unshakable.

God doesn’t just want us to inherit faith; He wants us to encounter Him daily in real ways. He’s a God who reveals Himself through answered prayers, quiet peace in chaos, and strength when we feel weak.

This week, ask yourself:

  • Am I walking in a faith that’s borrowed, or a faith that’s lived?

  • Where have I personally seen God show up in my life?

  • How can I be intentional about noticing His presence today?

Prayer:
Father God, in the Name of Jesus,
Thank You for another day. Thank You for waking me up this morning, starting me on my way, clothing me in my right mind, and allowing me to see the dawn of a brand new day.

Lord, I ask You to forgive me for all my sins and shortcomings, and I receive Your forgiveness in my heart. Create in me, O Lord, a clean heart. Purify my thoughts, and cast down every vain imagination and every high thing that tries to exalt itself against the knowledge of You, O God.

Lord, thank You for being real in my life. Not just a name I heard about, but a God I have encountered. Help me to never forget the moments You showed up, and let my life always be a living testimony that You are good and You are faithful. In Jesus’ name I pray, Thank God, Amen.
