The Unconditional Yes - July 11, 2025
Scripture:
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
— Romans 8:28 (NKJV)
Devotional:
There’s a difference between a convenient yes and a committed yes.
We often say “yes” to God, but with conditions.
Yes, as long as it aligns with our timeline.
Yes, if it doesn’t disrupt our routine.
Yes, as long as it doesn’t cost too much.
A conditioned yes is easy.
It’s easy to say yes to God when the terms and conditions align with what you want.
But what about the yes that requires you to yield—to His will, His way, and not your own?
What about the yes that asks you to do the unpopular, the unfamiliar, and the uncommon thing?
What about the yes that causes your faith to stretch beyond anything you’ve ever imagined?
What about the yes that makes you actually change?
That’s the yes that positions you for the exceedingly, abundantly.
That uncomfortable, inconvenient yes is what God uses to unlock the big things you've been seeking Him for—healing, deliverance, provision, direction. Sometimes, that next level requires a yes with no conditions attached.
That yes requires full surrender.
It’s the yes that makes you move before the plan is fully revealed.
The yes that tells you to leave comfort and walk toward the unknown.
The yes that shifts your attitude, your circle, your response.
The yes that makes you change.
And it’s that yes—the uncomfortable, stretching, unfamiliar yes—that God honors in supernatural ways.
That’s the yes that positions you for healing.
That’s the yes that opens the door to deliverance, provision, peace, and purpose.
That’s the yes that causes all things to work together for your good.
So if you’ve been waiting on God to move, ask yourself:
What kind of yes did I give Him?
Was it partial? Was it based on terms I created?
Or was it full, surrendered, and rooted in trust?
Because God moves in full obedience, not conditional compliance.
And while your yes may stretch you, it will never break you.
He’s too faithful for that.
It may not feel good. It may come with discomfort.
But it will always work in your favor because God responds to obedience.
So today, take inventory.
Think about the situations in your life where you haven’t seen God move yet.
Ask yourself:
Did I really say yes to Him on His terms… or mine?
Because I did say yes, but I haven’t seen anything change.
So what kind of yes did I give Him? What kind of yes was in my heart?
If you're still comfortable waiting on God, ask yourself:
What’s the motive behind my yes?
Was it rooted in surrender—or was it based on my own desired outcome?
Let this be the day you shift from convenience to complete commitment.
Because God will never put more on you than you can bear,
but that kind of yes will put you in position to receive ALL that God has for You.
Reflection/Challenge:
Be honest with yourself today. In what area have you given God a partial or conditioned yes? What might He be waiting to release once you surrender fully? Write it down. Then pray over it and give God the kind of yes that invites Him to move.
Prayer:
Father God, in the Name of Jesus,
Thank You for another day. Thank You for waking me up this morning, starting me on my way, clothing me in my right mind, and allowing me to see the dawn of a brand new day.
Lord, I ask You to forgive me for all my sins and shortcomings, and I receive Your forgiveness in my heart. Create in me, O Lord, a clean heart. Purify my thoughts, and cast down every vain imagination and every high thing that tries to exalt itself against the knowledge of You, O God.
Lord, forgive me for the times I gave You a conditional yes. I now say yes to Your will, not mine. Lord, I don’t want to keep giving You a yes that’s based on my comfort. I want to give You the kind of yes that stretches me, grows me, draws me closer to You, and opens the doors to the blessings that You have prepared for my life. Forgive me for every time I tried to obey You on my own terms. Today, I surrender. I trust that even when it doesn’t feel good, You are working all things for my good. Help me say yes, and mean it.
In Jesus’ name I pray, Thank God, Amen.
