The Hardest Prayer To Pray: “God I Still Trust You” - June 30, 2025

Scripture:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”
— Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT)

Devotional:
There’s a difference between praying for what you want and praying through what you don’t understand.

“God, bless me” is easy.
“God, make a way” is hopeful.
“God, help me walk into my greater” is full of faith.
But “God, I still trust You” — that’s the hard one.

That’s the prayer you whisper through tears, disappointment, fear, and waiting.
It shows up in moments when the answer is “no” or “not yet,” when your soul is tired, and everything feels uncertain.
It’s not loud.
It’s not always bold.
Sometimes, it’s barely audible.

But it’s real.
It’s raw.
It’s surrender.

This prayer doesn’t mean you’re weak—it means you’re anchored.
It means that deep down, your heart is aligned with God’s heart.
It means you’re saying, “Even when I don’t like the path, I still trust the One leading me.”

You’re sending a message to heaven that says:
“No matter what, I still trust You. No matter what, I still love You.”
When you first said yes to God, you meant it.
And you still do.

No, it doesn’t feel good.
Yes, you want things to change.
But just like Job said: “The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away, blessed be the name of the Lord.”

Because here’s what I know:
I’ve never seen the righteous forsaken.
I’ve never seen His seed beg for bread.

And I am fully confident that I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

He’s done it before.
And I know He’ll do it again.

Reflection/Challenge:
Do you still trust Him when He’s silent?
Can you let go of your own understanding long enough to let God be God?

Proverbs 3:5–6 (NLT) reminds us:
When you give God your whole heart and stop trying to figure everything out on your own, He will lead you. Maybe not always the way you expected, but always the way that’s best.

Prayer:
Father God, in the Name of Jesus,
Thank You for another day. Thank You for waking me up this morning, starting me on my way, clothing me in my right mind, and allowing me to see the dawn of a brand new day.

Lord, I ask You to forgive me for all my sins and shortcomings, and I receive Your forgiveness in my heart. Create in me, O Lord, a clean heart. Purify my thoughts, and cast down every vain imagination and every high thing that tries to exalt itself against the knowledge of You, O God.

I admit—it’s hard sometimes. I want to understand. I want to be in control. But today, I choose to trust You. Even when I don’t get it. Even when it hurts. Even when the way is unclear, I still trust You.

Help me to seek Your will, not just in the easy moments, but especially in the uncertain ones. Show me which path to take.

I love You no matter what. I trust You no matter what.
And I still believe that it’s all working together for my good.

In Jesus’ name I pray, Thank God, Amen.
