Spark A Change - October 7, 2025
Scripture:
“If our bodies have no spirit, they are dead. In the same way, if our faith does not lead us to do good things, it is dead.” - James 2:26 EASY
Devotional:
This isn’t about judgment, it’s about reflection. When God spares your life, covers you in your mistakes, or brings you out of a mess you created, that moment should spark a change. Deliverance should lead to difference.
Think about it: if you were drinking and driving and wrecked, but God allowed you to walk away, that’s mercy. But mercy isn’t meant to be wasted. When God steps in, He’s not just rescuing you from danger; He’s calling you into destiny.
We’ve all had seasons where we knew better but didn’t do better. I did too. I stayed in cycles, ignored conviction, and made choices I knew were wrong. But there came a moment when I realized, I can’t keep living like this. God didn’t bring me out for me to go back.
Conviction isn’t condemnation. It’s God’s love pulling you higher. It’s His way of saying, “I have more for you than this.” Real change happens when you stop using grace as a safety net and start using it as strength to live differently.
Reflection/Challenge:
Think back on a moment when God spared you or delivered you. What has changed since then? If the answer is “not much,” maybe today is the day to start walking differently.
Prayer:
Father God, in the Name of Jesus,
Thank You for another day. Thank You for waking me up this morning, starting me on my way, clothing me in my right mind, and allowing me to see the dawn of a brand new day.
Lord, I ask You to forgive me for all my sins and shortcomings, and I receive Your forgiveness in my heart. Create in me, O Lord, a clean heart. Purify my thoughts, and cast down every vain imagination and every high thing that tries to exalt itself against the knowledge of You, O God.
Lord, thank You for every time You’ve spared me, covered me, and brought me out of situations I didn’t deserve to survive. Help me not to waste Your mercy. Let Your grace spark real change in my life. Teach me to live differently because of what You’ve done for me. In Jesus Name I Pray, Thank God, Amen.
