Lord, I Love You - September 22, 2025
Scripture:
“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.” - Matthew 22:37 KJV
Devotional:
Love is more than words whispered in prayer or sung in worship; it is devotion expressed through obedience, trust, and surrender. When Jesus declared that the greatest commandment is to love the Lord with all our heart, soul, and mind, He was calling us to wholeness, a love that engages our emotions, our choices, and our thoughts.
Saying “Lord, I love You” is powerful because it shifts our focus from ourselves to Him. It realigns our hearts when we feel scattered, lifts us when we feel low, and humbles us when pride tries to rise. Loving God becomes the anchor when life feels uncertain and the compass when decisions feel unclear.
This love is not built on perfection but on relationship. Even in weakness, even after mistakes, God receives our love because He first loved us. And that love is transforming. The more we love Him, the more we become like Him.
Reflection/Challenge:
Pause for a moment today and say out loud: “Lord, I love You.” Then ask yourself, how can I show my love for God today through obedience, kindness, or worship? Love is not just spoken; it’s lived.
Prayer:
Father God, in the Name of Jesus,
Thank You for another day. Thank You for waking me up this morning, starting me on my way, clothing me in my right mind, and allowing me to see the dawn of a brand new day.
Lord, I ask You to forgive me for all my sins and shortcomings, and I receive Your forgiveness in my heart. Create in me, O Lord, a clean heart. Purify my thoughts, and cast down every vain imagination and every high thing that tries to exalt itself against the knowledge of You, O God.
Lord, I love You with all my heart, soul, and mind. Thank You for loving me first, with a love that never fails. Teach me to love You not only in words, but in action. Help me to honor You in my choices, serve You with my life, and glorify You in everything I do. My heart belongs to You forever. In Jesus Name I Pray, Thank God, Amen.
