I Am Not Ashamed Of The Gospel - September 17, 2025
Scripture:
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth...”-Romans 1:16 KJV
Devotional:
Paul’s words in Romans 1:16 echo like a war cry for every believer: “I am not ashamed.” The world may mock faith, water down truth, or twist Scripture to fit comfort, but the Word of God does not bend. It remains the unshakable standard, yesterday, today, and forever.
This is a call to holy refusal: a declaration that salvation is not for sale, not up for negotiation, and not to be diluted to make others comfortable. The greatest tragedy is not losing popularity, opportunities, or approval, but it is standing before God and hearing, “Depart from me, I never knew you” (Matthew 7:23). That sobering reality sharpens our choices today.
Refusing to compromise doesn’t mean perfection, but it does mean direction. It means aligning our lives, day by day, with the Word. It means repentance when we fall, courage when we’re tested, and boldness when we’re misunderstood. It means guarding our faith as treasure, because eternity is too long to gamble with temporary applause.
We are called to live unashamed. Not timid. Not halfway. Not silenced by culture. But confident in the saving power of Christ, knowing His approval outweighs every human opinion.
Reflection/Challenge:
Ask yourself today: Where are you tempted to compromise your faith to fit in, please others, or avoid conflict? Write it down. Then declare over that area, “God’s Word is the standard, and I will not be ashamed.”
Prayer:
Father God, in the Name of Jesus,
Thank You for another day. Thank You for waking me up this morning, starting me on my way, clothing me in my right mind, and allowing me to see the dawn of a brand new day.
Lord, I ask You to forgive me for all my sins and shortcomings, and I receive Your forgiveness in my heart. Create in me, O Lord, a clean heart. Purify my thoughts, and cast down every vain imagination and every high thing that tries to exalt itself against the knowledge of You, O God.
Lord, thank You for the Gospel, the power of God unto salvation. Strengthen us to live boldly, without compromise. Let our lives reflect obedience to Your Word. Silence the voice of fear, shame, or approval-seeking, and anchor us in truth. May we stand unashamed before You on that day, hearing, “Well done, good and faithful servant. In Jesus Name I Pray, Thank God, Amen.
