Success In God’s Hands - September 14, 2025
Scripture:
“So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.” - Romans 14:12 NIV
Devotional:
Just because your success doesn’t look like someone else’s doesn’t mean yours is any less important, especially when it’s the hand of God that brought it to pass. What He ordains cannot be measured by human standards. If He called you to it, blessed it, allowed it, or made it happen, then you are walking in success.
The danger comes when we grow careless with what He has entrusted to us. Too often, we slack, procrastinate, or mishandle opportunities because they don’t “look” like success in the world’s eyes. But Scripture is clear, we are accountable not to people, but to God. He is the One who gave the assignment, and He is the One who will judge how we steward it.
Being careless with His blessings not only limits growth but risks grieving His Spirit. None of us want to stand before God and realize we let procrastination, laziness, or distraction rob us of what He intended to multiply. The gifts, platforms, and opportunities He places in our lives are meant to bring Him glory, and when we mishandle them, we block His flow.
Reflection/Challenge:
Take an honest look this morning: Have you been diligent with what God has entrusted to you, or have you allowed comparison, laziness, or procrastination to steal your focus? Go back to Him in prayer. Ask for forgiveness where you’ve slacked. Ask Him to realign your focus, remove every distraction, and reignite your fire to work diligently for His kingdom. Remember, true success is not about applause but about obedience.
Prayer:
Father God, in the Name of Jesus,
Thank You for another day. Thank You for waking me up this morning, starting me on my way, clothing me in my right mind, and allowing me to see the dawn of a brand new day.
Lord, I ask You to forgive me for all my sins and shortcomings, and I receive Your forgiveness in my heart. Create in me, O Lord, a clean heart. Purify my thoughts, and cast down every vain imagination and every high thing that tries to exalt itself against the knowledge of You, O God.
Lord, forgive me for the times I have slacked, procrastinated, or mishandled what You placed in my hands. I know that every gift, opportunity, and open door came from You. Realign my focus today. Remove laziness, comparison, and distraction from my spirit. Help me to see the value in what You’ve entrusted to me and to handle it with diligence and care. May my life reflect obedience and bring glory to Your name. In Jesus Name I Pray, Thank God, Amen.
