Tear Through The Roof - September 6, 2025
Scripture:
“They couldn’t bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, so they dug a hole through the roof above his head. Then they lowered the man on his mat, right down in front of Jesus.” - Mark 2:4 NLT
Devotional:
In Mark 2, four friends carried a paralyzed man to Jesus. They couldn’t get in through the door because of the crowd, but they refused to turn back. Instead, they climbed the roof, tore it open, and lowered their friend right at the feet of Jesus.
This moment reminds us that faith is bold, determined, and relentless. The crowd represents life’s obstacles, delays, setbacks, rejection, and even our own doubts. The roof represents the barriers that feel unmovable. Yet, when faith is active, it finds another way.
The enemy wants us to believe that rejection is final, that we’ll stay in the same problem forever, and that God will leave us stuck in lack or failure. But God says otherwise. The very area where you once felt blocked is the very area He will cause His glory to be revealed. Just like creation itself declares His greatness, your breakthrough will declare His glory.
Faith does not accept defeat. Faith tears through barriers. And when Jesus sees that kind of faith, miracles happen.
Reflection/Challenge:
What roof is blocking your access to today? Is it fear, doubt, shame, or delay? Don’t let the crowd at the door convince you to turn back. Push forward in prayer. Press through in faith. Tear through the roof if you must, but get yourself, and your situation, to Jesus. The very place of resistance will become the stage for your testimony.
Prayer:
Father God, in the Name of Jesus,
Thank You for another day. Thank You for waking me up this morning, starting me on my way, clothing me in my right mind, and allowing me to see the dawn of a brand new day.
Lord, I ask You to forgive me for all my sins and shortcomings, and I receive Your forgiveness in my heart. Create in me, O Lord, a clean heart. Purify my thoughts, and cast down every vain imagination and every high thing that tries to exalt itself against the knowledge of You, O God.
Lord, thank You for reminding me that faith doesn’t quit when doors close or when crowds stand in the way. Strengthen me to keep pressing, to keep believing, and to keep moving toward You. Help me tear through every barrier that tries to keep me from Your presence. I refuse to stop at the crowd. I want to be lowered right at Your feet. Let my faith speak louder than my obstacles, and let my breakthrough bring You glory. In Jesus Name I Pray, Thank God, Amen.
