The Turning Point - September 2, 2025

Scripture:

“So the last will be first, and the first will be last.” - Matthew‬ ‭20‬:‭16‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Devotional:

I believe a shift has taken place for God’s people. What was once first is now last, and what was once last is now first. Doors are opening, storms are clearing, and God’s hand is bringing His people into a new place.

But here’s the encouragement for those who find themselves on the opposite side of this turning point: when it feels like the tables have turned against you, it is not punishment, it is preparation. God allows seasons of breaking to rebuild you His way. He strips away pride, self-dependence, and distractions so that when He restores you, you stand on a stronger foundation.

Everyone has a season. I had one. And in that season of lack, confusion, and testing, God kept me. He never left. He fed me manna when I couldn’t see milk and honey. He sustained me when I thought I couldn’t go on. And just as He was faithful to me, He will be faithful to you.

When your season shifts, remember that God’s goodness didn’t start with your breakthrough, it carried you through the valley and will now carry you into abundance. The turning point is not just about tables flipping, it’s about God showing His sovereignty, His faithfulness, and His timing.

Reflection/Challenge:

Ask yourself: Am I trusting God in this season, whether I’m in the valley or on the mountaintop? Seasons change, but His faithfulness does not. Reflect on how He has kept you before, and let that strengthen your faith that He will keep you now.

Prayer:
Father God, in the Name of Jesus,
Thank You for another day. Thank You for waking me up this morning, starting me on my way, clothing me in my right mind, and allowing me to see the dawn of a brand new day.

Lord, I ask You to forgive me for all my sins and shortcomings, and I receive Your forgiveness in my heart. Create in me, O Lord, a clean heart. Purify my thoughts, and cast down every vain imagination and every high thing that tries to exalt itself against the knowledge of You, O God.

Lord, thank You for being faithful in every season. Thank You for keeping me in the valley and for preparing me for the mountaintop. When tables turn and seasons shift, remind me that it’s not about loss or gain, but about Your will and Your glory. Help me to trust You through the breaking, and to rejoice when restoration comes. I declare today that You are faithful, and my hope is in You alone. In Jesus’ name I pray, Thank God, Amen.
