It Is Finished. - August 28, 2025

Scripture:

“Look! Now I will do something that is new! It is already beginning to happen. Surely, you can recognize it. Yes, I will make a road through the desert. I will make streams in the wilderness.” -Isaiah‬ ‭43‬:‭19‬ ‭EASY‬‬

Devotional:

Life often brings seasons of struggle, lessons, and waiting, and in those moments, it can feel like breakthrough will never come. And if we’re being honest, It seems as if God is just going to allow the chaos, the hardship, the adversity to go on forever. But God reminds us that His timing is perfect and His promises are sure.

There will come a moment when God says, “It is finished.” Not because you’ve reached perfection or because every detail of your life is flawless, but because the season of pruning, pressing, and stretching has accomplished its purpose and more importantly, YOU ARE HIS! And He promises to take care of, to rescue His own. You have cried, endured, learned, and prayed. You have been tested, but not abandoned. You stood when walking away would have been easier. And when He declares, “It is finished,” it’s not just the end of the battle, it’s the beginning of restoration and favor.

Whenever the Lord says peace, there is peace. Whenever He declares it is finished, the storm must bow, and the struggle must cease. Whenever God speaks, everything aligns. The enemy wants us to believe that battles will last forever, that rejection is final, that lack and pain will define us. But God says otherwise. What looked permanent will shift. The very place that once brought sorrow will become the place He releases joy. Where you saw only dead ends, He will cause new life to spring forth.

The declaration “It is finished” means you no longer have to fight in your own strength. God Himself is stepping in to shift the story. What felt like the end is actually the beginning of His glory being revealed in your life.

Now, a shift is happening for those who truly belong to Christ. Where there was struggle, He is bringing breakthrough. Where there was loss, He is bringing restoration. Where there was delay, He is releasing acceleration. You have walked through the valley, but now you are stepping into the land He promised. And today, God is declaring over your life: It is finished.

Reflection/Challenge:

Pause and ask yourself: Am I living as one of God’s redeemed, fully surrendered to Him? His covenant promises aren’t just for anyone; they are for His people, those who choose His ways over their own. The world may chase peace in possessions, success, or relationships, but real peace, lasting joy, and true favor are reserved for those who belong to Him.

The enemy will try to convince you that your current storm is permanent, but God says otherwise. Your identity is not in rejection, shame, or delay, it’s in being called “The Redeemed of the Lord” (Isaiah 62:12). That means you don’t have to overextend yourself, prove your worth to others, or live for human approval. Your worth and victory come from being His.

Prayer:
Father God, in the Name of Jesus,
Thank You for another day. Thank You for waking me up this morning, starting me on my way, clothing me in my right mind, and allowing me to see the dawn of a brand new day.

Lord, I ask You to forgive me for all my sins and shortcomings, and I receive Your forgiveness in my heart. Create in me, O Lord, a clean heart. Purify my thoughts, and cast down every vain imagination and every high thing that tries to exalt itself against the knowledge of You, O God.

Father, I thank You that I am not forgotten, forsaken, or overlooked. I am Yours. You have called me holy, redeemed, and chosen. Lord, help me to walk in that truth when my circumstances try to tell me otherwise. I receive the declaration “It is finished” over my life, and not because I am perfect, but because I am Yours.

Lord, help me to stop striving to prove myself to people, and instead rest in who You’ve already called me to be. Teach me to trust Your timing and Your covenant promises. I lay every battle, every burden, and every disappointment at Your feet. Thank You for turning shame into honor, sorrow into joy, and delay into acceleration.

Today, I declare with boldness: It is finished. My struggle is not wasted, my story is not over, and my victory is secure in You. In Jesus’ name I pray, Thank God, Amen.
