Stay With Me - August 6, 2025
Scripture:
“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.”
— John 15:4 (NKJV)
Devotional:
“Stay with Me. Keep abiding. I see you. I’m about to shift it.”
Those words hit me in a deep place. Because truthfully, it’s easy to abide when things are good. When doors are opening, prayers are being answered, and life feels stable. But what about when you’re waiting? When you’ve prayed and fasted, when you’re barely hanging on, and when it looks like nothing is moving?
That’s when “abiding” becomes a crucial act of obedience. A choice. A declaration of trust that says:
“Even if I don’t see it yet, I still choose You.”
God reminded me that fruit only comes from abiding. Not striving. Not stressing. Not performing. Just staying. Staying in His presence. Staying in His Word. Staying under His covering. Staying where you last felt Him, even when you don’t feel Him now. Staying even when it hurts, even when you’re tired, even when the enemy tries to convince you to walk away.
Because here’s the truth: God sees you. He hasn’t missed one tear, one prayer, one seed sown in faith. And He’s not ignoring you. He’s aligning things. Shifting things. Working behind the scenes on what you prayed about in silence.
Your only assignment? Stay. Stay rooted. Stay surrendered. Stay in expectation.
Reflection/Challenge:
Ask yourself today: Am I abiding, or am I striving?
Am I staying close to God in the waiting?
Have I let frustration pull me away from the vine?
Make the decision to lean back into Him today. Let His Word comfort you. Let His voice guide you. And trust that He’s about to shift it.
Prayer:
Father God, in the Name of Jesus,
Thank You for another day. Thank You for waking me up this morning, starting me on my way, clothing me in my right mind, and allowing me to see the dawn of a brand new day.
Lord, I ask You to forgive me for all my sins and shortcomings, and I receive Your forgiveness in my heart. Create in me, O Lord, a clean heart. Purify my thoughts, and cast down every vain imagination and every high thing that tries to exalt itself against the knowledge of You, O God.
Lord, help me to stay with you. Stay in your presence. Even when it’s hard. Even it when it makes no sense. Even when it’s draining. Even when it feels like nothing is shifting. Even when it feels like I’m barely hanging on. Even when it’s quiet. Even when it’s slow. Help me to stay with you. Help me to remain in obedience to Your word and what You are telling me to do. I want to still choose to abide in YOU. I trust that You see me, You hear me, and You are moving even right now. Help me to stop striving and start resting IN YOU. Resting in the circumstance. Resting in Your Promises. You never said it would be easy, but You did say You would be with me in every season of my life. In all circumstances. Keep me rooted in Your presence and in Your word until the shift happens and continue to remain there because this isn’t a one-time walk but a lifestyle. I love You with all of me, more than anything. Thank You for hearing my prayer today and I trust and choose to believe that it is already done. In Jesus Name I pray, Thank God and Amen.
