Let Go & Let God — November 13, 2025
Scripture:
“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” - 1 Peter 5:7 NLT
Devotional:
There comes a point where holding it all together becomes its own kind of battle.
The worries that keep you up at night…
The responsibilities that feel endless…
The thoughts that spiral…
The emotions you try to hide…
The unexpected blows…
Even the things you can control, your responses, your attitude, your routine, your pace, can become exhausting when life is pressing from every side.
Before you realize it, your mind is running, your heart is tight, and your spirit feels pressed on every side. Stress becomes the lens you see life through, and suddenly everything feels heavier than it should.
But here’s the truth: God never designed you to carry life on your own strength. You were never meant to hold what only He can handle.
You were built to trust, not to strain.
When you cling too tightly to everything, your mind becomes crowded with fear, a place God never intended for you to live. His Word reminds us that He has not given us the spirit of fear. When you rehearse the stress, it becomes heavier. When you try to “fix it all” alone, discouragement rises.
Life is sneaky. It will consume your peace. It will crowd out your joy. It will make you forget that God is still in control.
But letting go is not giving up.
Letting go is shifting the weight off your shoulders and placing it where it belongs, in God’s hands.
When you truly release it, God can redeem it.
The moment you surrender it, God can strengthen you through it.
And the moment you stop gripping it, God can guide you out of it.
You don’t have to figure everything out.
You don’t have to fix everything.
You don’t have to carry everything.
Let go. And let God be God.
He’s handling the things you can’t see.
He’s working on the things you can’t control.
He’s smoothing out the things you can’t explain.
And He’s lifting the weight you were never meant to hold.
When you release it, something shifts:
Peace enters where pressure lived.
Clarity replaces confusion.
Strength begins to return.
Letting go is not giving up.
Letting go is handing it to the One who actually has the power to handle it.
God sees the weight you’ve been carrying.
He sees the tears you don’t show.
He sees the worry behind the smile.
And He is whispering today:
“Let it go. Give it to Me. Trust Me with what you can’t control, and trust Me to help you with what you can.”
Your job is to surrender.
His job is to sustain.
Your job is to obey.
His job is to open the door.
Your job is to trust.
His job is to turn it around.
Let go of the stress.
Let go of the pressure.
Let go of the fear of the unknown.
Let go of trying to hold everything together.
And let God be God.
Challenge/Reflection:
Take a moment today to identify one thing you’ve been holding onto too tightly, a worry, a responsibility, a fear, or something you keep trying to fix in your own strength.
Ask yourself honestly: Is this mine to carry, or is this God’s?
Then make a choice: release it to Him, not halfway, not temporarily, but fully.
Let today be the day you practice surrender in real time.
Prayer:
Father God, in the Name of Jesus,
Thank You for another day. Thank You for waking me up this morning, starting me on my way, clothing me in my right mind, and allowing me to see the dawn of a brand new day.
Lord, I ask You to forgive me for all my sins and shortcomings, and I receive Your forgiveness in my heart. Create in me, O Lord, a clean heart. Purify my thoughts, and cast down every vain imagination and every high thing that tries to exalt itself against the knowledge of You, O God.
Thank You for strength to face what comes and Grace to release what I cannot control. Lord, I confess that I’ve been carrying things that were never meant for my shoulders. I’ve held on to stress, pressure, fear, and the weight of trying to manage everything on my own.
Today, Lord, I let it go.
I place every worry, every burden, every heavy thought into Your hands.
Help me surrender, not just with my words, but with my heart. Remove the spirit of fear, overwhelm, and anxiety, and fill me with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.
Teach me to trust Your timing, Your plan, and Your strength.
Help me walk in obedience, stay in alignment with Your will, and rest in the assurance that You are God and You are in control. Thank You for carrying what I cannot. Thank You for lifting what I cannot hold. Thank You for being faithful, present, and patient with me.
I release it all to You, and I choose to trust You completely. In Jesus Name I Pray, Thank God, Amen.
Declaration:
I release what I cannot control and trust God with what I cannot carry.
I choose peace over pressure.
I choose surrender over strain.
God is in control, and I trust Him fully.
I am letting go, and God is lifting me.
