I’m Coming Out- October 16, 2025
Scripture:
“But he knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold.” - Job 23:10 NLT
Devotional:
I remember one day while I was in law school, I was dealing with so much at once. I just prayed, “Lord, I commit my academic and career journey to You. Take it and do whatever You want to do with it, and with me.”
At that moment, I was exhausted. I had no strength, no motivation, just pain and weakness. I was trying to carry something I didn’t have the ability to handle anymore. So I surrendered it all to God, fully expecting that once I handed it over, everything would smooth out.
And then life happened.
It was almost like, “Lord… did You hear me?” Because instead of instant peace, the testing got harder. Pain deepened. Fatigue increased. One situation after another; financial strain, emotional battles, mental burnout, loss, disappointment, and loneliness. You name it, it happened.
But through it all, I kept saying, “God, I trust You. I’ll go through it.” Even when it didn’t make sense, I held on.
As time went on, I didn’t know it then, but just like Job said, “Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him.” (Job 13:15)
God knew the way that I took. He was getting me to my expected end. He knew that I would never make it to my destination trying to do it my own way. Because His plans for me are good, and He wants to prosper me, He had to take me this way to get me to where I truly desired to be, and here I am.
I’m out and better than I’ve ever been.
When you are truly committed to letting go and letting God, you will be tried. You will be tested. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers them out of them all. (Psalm 34:19)
And when He brings you out, you’ll realize every fire had a purpose. You’re coming out better.
Job went through it. He experienced loss, sickness, grief, and pain. He lost everything, but he never lost his faith. He made up his mind that no matter what happened, he would forever stand for God and trust Him. And because Job held on, God restored him.
Scripture says, “The Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.” (Job 42:10)
That’s the kind of faith I had to learn, the kind that doesn’t break in the middle of the fire. The kind that says, “Lord, even if I don’t understand it, I still trust You.”
It’s the kind of faith that holds on because you know you’re not being burned, you’re being refined. The kind that endures because deep down, you know when you come out, you won’t even smell like smoke. You’ll come out shining, strengthened, and standing, proof that God was in the fire with you the whole time.
You don’t have to rush God. Just know this, your praise has already shifted Heaven. You’re not waiting for change anymore. You’re walking in it.
Challenge/Reflection:
What if this fire was never about breaking you, but about building you?
Take a moment to thank God for the strength you gained from what tried to take you out. Declare by faith: I’m not stuck, I’M COMING OUT!
Prayer:
Father God, in the Name of Jesus,
Thank You for another day. Thank You for waking me up this morning, starting me on my way, clothing me in my right mind, and allowing me to see the dawn of a brand new day.
Lord, I ask You to forgive me for all my sins and shortcomings, and I receive Your forgiveness in my heart. Create in me, O Lord, a clean heart. Purify my thoughts, and cast down every vain imagination and every high thing that tries to exalt itself against the knowledge of You, O God.
Father, thank You for every test, every tear, and every refining season that shaped me. I didn’t always understand it, but now I see You were with me the whole time. Thank You for not letting the fire consume me but using it to purify me.
Lord, as I come out of this season, let everything that was meant to harm me turn for my good. Let my testimony reflect Your power and my life reflect Your glory. My praise belongs to You alone, and I thank You that my breakthrough is already in motion. In Jesus Name I Pray, Thank God, Amen.
Declaration:
I’ve been tried. I’ve been tested.
But I’m coming out refined, restored, and victorious.
My praise has shifted Heaven, and this is my season to come forth as gold!
