Thank You For Rising - April 20, 2025
Scripture:
”He is not here; He has risen, just as He said.”
—Matthew 28:6
Devotional:
Today, we pause in reverence and awe. The stone was rolled away, and the tomb is empty and our Savior has risen. Death could not hold Him. The grave could not stop Him. Sin could not defeat Him. Jesus Christ rose in victory, and because of that, so can we.
Easter is more than a day on the calendar, it is the declaration of hope for every believer. It’s the reminder that God kept His promise, that light conquered darkness, and that the cross was not the end of the story.
When Jesus rose, He carried us with Him; from brokenness to healing, from bondage to freedom, from death to life. His resurrection means that nothing is too far gone, no heart too shattered, and no situation too impossible for Him to redeem.
So this morning, we say:
Thank You for rising, Jesus. Thank You for taking on the weight of our sins, enduring the cross, and choosing to get up so we could have access to eternal life and daily grace. Thank You for loving us that much.
Reflection/Challenge:
Reflect on what the resurrection truly means in your life. What has Jesus raised you from? How are you living as someone who has been given new life?
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for rising. Thank You for the cross, the grave, and most importantly, the victory. Because You live, I have hope. Because You live, I am forgiven. Because You live, I can face anything that comes my way. Help me live today in celebration and remembrance of Your resurrection power. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
