I Need Thee Every Hour - September 9, 2025

Scripture:

“Continue to live in me, and I will continue to live in you. A branch cannot make fruit by itself. It can make fruit only if it continues to be part of the vine. You are like that. You cannot make fruit unless you continue to live in me.” - John‬ ‭15‬:‭4‬ ‭(EASY‬‬)

Devotional:

Just like the hymn says, we need God every single hour. Not just in the big storms, but in the small decisions, the daily frustrations, and even in the moments of joy. When we try to live apart from Him, we quickly find ourselves weary, empty, and restless. But when we remain in Him, there is peace, clarity, and strength that cannot be explained.

The beauty of surrender is knowing that God doesn’t get tired of our need for Him. He welcomes it. He desires that closeness. Your dependence on Him is not a burden, it’s the very thing that keeps you connected to the source of life.

Reflection/Challenge:

Pause today and ask yourself: Am I trying to handle parts of my life without God? Invite Him back into every hour, your work, your family, your decisions, even your rest. Let this be a day where you lean fully into His presence.

Prayer:
Father God, in the Name of Jesus,
Thank You for another day. Thank You for waking me up this morning, starting me on my way, clothing me in my right mind, and allowing me to see the dawn of a brand new day.

Lord, I ask You to forgive me for all my sins and shortcomings, and I receive Your forgiveness in my heart. Create in me, O Lord, a clean heart. Purify my thoughts, and cast down every vain imagination and every high thing that tries to exalt itself against the knowledge of You, O God.

Lord, I need You. Not just sometimes, not just when things feel heavy, but every single hour. Keep me close to You. Teach me to remain in Your presence, to depend on Your strength, and to find peace in Your love. Thank You for never turning me away when I call. In Jesus Name I Pray, Thank God, Amen.
